Abstract/Summary
A Level 2 building report was produced for 11 Curzon Park North, Chester, prior to its demolition and re-development of the site. The building was constructed in 1967-8 to a design by T. O. Pottinger & Partners. Stylistically, the design of No.11 Curzon Park North is clearly influenced by the work of Eric Lyons. References are found in its relationship with the surrounding landscape; use of a limited materials palette; juxtaposition of brickwork and timber panelling; and, internally, by the extensive use of timber; and the quality of the detailing. Lyons’ influence is also reflected in the building’s well-considered proportions and rational plan.
