Abstract/Summary
Heritage Statement produced in 2017 for Hawthorn Hall, which is Grade II* Listed; the walls and gate piers are listed at Grade II. The property is within the Hawthorn Lane Conservation Area. The manor house dates from the 17th century and was originally the nucleus of a farm estate as well as a house, but was surrounded by development in the 20th century, when the town of Wilmslow expanded. It is approached through a pair of gate piers which are contemporary with the house, and stands in a secluded garden fringed by trees. In the post-war period the property was converted for office use, but in recent years it has been restored to a dwelling.
