Abstract/Summary
An additional, fourth volume to Campbell's Vitruvius Britannicus to be published in monthly fascicles by subscription were issued by the architects John Woolfe and James Gandon and the engraver and printseller Matthias Darly in March 1765; in the event the volume was completed in seventeen fascicles in July 1767. Support from existing and new subscribers was such that a fifth volume was issued (possibly also in fascicles) in 1771, with Thomas White replacing Darly as engraver, but a proposed sixth volume never materialised.
