Abstract/Summary
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken in 2020 during groundworks associated with the erection of a new school building at Blacon High School, Melbourne Road, Blacon, Chester. The site was identified as lying within a wider area of limited archaeological potential including a Second World War camp. Hints of Roman period activity within the general area are also known.
No features, deposits or finds of archaeological significance were encountered during the monitoring, and it was apparent that the site had been previously and widely disturbed within the recent past.
