| Report Number | R4433 |
| Date/Year | 2003 |
Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken at Danes Moss, Macclesfield, in June 2002, following the earlier identification of an intact section through the peat deposits and the collection of a sample of the peat. The watching brief monitored the excavations for a new lagoon within the area of the Danes Moss landfill site. The peat deposits recorded survived to a depth in excess of 3.5m. Samples were taken from distinct horizons within the peat for palaeoenvironmental assessment (see R2653.2, SCH4997).
