Abstract/Summary
A heritage impact assessment was produced in 2015 to inform proposals to re-develop land at Brickfield Farm, Tarporley, for residential purposes (48 houses), including demolition of some of the farm buildings (a dutch barn and small modern building). The site lies within the Tarporely Conservation Area.
Brickfield Farm is depicted on the 1839 Tithe Map as a cluster of buildings and listed in the apportionment as two houses owned by the Trustees of the late John Arden and a further house and garden at the northern corner of the proposed development site, owned by Chester Cathedral, with fields to the west including one called Brick Kiln Field. By 1874, the house in the field to the north, has disappeared.
