Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken, in October 2018, during groundworks for a new livestock outbuilding at Lea Manor Farm, Aldford, Cheshire. The work was undertaken due to the presence of Roman and medieval activity in the wider area and involved inspecting the footprint of the livestock outbuilding after removal of topsoil. The topsoil sealed the glacial horizon and no evidence of archaeological activity was identified within the confines of the inspected area; a modern drainage ditch associated with the existing dairy farm buildings was identified at the eastern end of the stripped area.
