Abstract/Summary
Heritage Impact Assessment produced in June 2018 for The Old Palace, Chester in support of an application to convert it to a wedding venue. The report is split into an introductory section, which deals with a summary of significance, and floor plans showing different levels of significance, the major principles of alterations and impacts, including exteral works which affect the setting of the listed building, and then a detailed, tabled analysis of internal alterations on a floor-by-floor basis. It complements a Statement of Significance produced in 2016 (ECH6582/SCH8527) and an archaeological evaluation report detailing the results of the excavation of six trial trenches undertaken at The Old Palace in 2017 (ECH6497/SCH8401), also a subsequent watching brief in April 2018 (ECH6585/SCH8532).
