Abstract/Summary

Desk-based study undertaken in 2013 by the Field Services Section of the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust assessing the impact on cultural heritage assets in advance of the installation of a 132kv powerline. Forms of impact to sites could eminate from routes of vehicular access, also refurbishment of some tower bases. The overhead line runs from Carrington in Greater Manchester to Crewe in Cheshire; the area of study comprised a 250m buffer zone centred on the route of the power lines. Following the completion of the original report some sections of the route were withdrawn from the refurbishment scheme, while two further sections were added.
