Abstract/Summary
Report on an archaeological watching brief during groundworks associated with the construction of three domestic dwellings to the rear of no. 21 West Street, Congleton, Cheshire.
The results of the watching brief demonstrated that deposits and later yard or path surfaces dating to no earlier than the 19th century survive within the development area. In addition to these, a brick inspection pit, associated with former garage business located within the site, was recorded.
No features or deposits earlier than the 19th century were observed during the watching brief.
