Abstract/Summary
Archaeological assessment undertaken in advance of the development of land at Carden Park involving a new build and landscaping of the grounds. The site has long been occupied with the first reference to a hall in the late 15th century. The most recent hall was built in the 16th century but this was destroyed by fire in 1912 (1763/1/1). The site is surrounded by a sandstone wall that encloses the house site and garden. The garden retains some landscaped features such as an old fish pond and terracing.
