Abstract/Summary
Report on Evaluation ahead of proposed demolition and replacement of the existing Church Hall. The aim of the evaluation was to investigate and characterise the extent, survival and date of archaeological deposits across the site. The work carried out comprised the excavation of nine trenches. The evaluation demonstrated that probable boundary features in the form of linear gullies and a post hole, along with a single pit feature, dating to the Romano-British period survive on the site. In addition to these were a boundary gully, a brick drain and several large pit features (possibly associated with clay extraction and brick manufacture) dating to the post medieval period.
