Abstract/Summary
Specialist report on the four ceramic vessels discovered near Congleton in 1992 by metal detectorists and containing hoards of silver coins of 16th and 17th century date. The group comprised two black-glazed jars with lids and two bottles. All are broadly dateable to the late 17th and first half of the 18th centuries and are wares which were common to several areas of north-western England and North Wales.
