Abstract/Summary
Archaeological Evaluation carried out at Sutton New Hall Farm. Three 10m by 2m trenches. Research shows evidence of Prehistoric and Roman Activity in the surrounding area. In Medieval period the land belonged to the Abbey of St Werburgh and was used for agricultural purposes.
No significant deposits of features of significance found on site during the evaluation. A single sherd of black glazed post medieval pottery was found. This is believed to be residual and is probably associated with agricultural activity on site.
