Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by CFA between August 2014 and February 2015 during the excavation of a pipeline and related works associated with the replacement Reservoir at Jacksons Edge Disley. Archaeological remains were encountered consisting of three potential preshistoric pits, residual medieval pottery and probable medieval furrows, also post medieval enclosure boundaries and modern features associated with small scale quarrying and probably the construction of an air shaft for the Disley Tunnel railway.
