Abstract/Summary
A report on sixteen 1cm samples were taken from two adjacent cores taken from peat deposits in the Gowy Valley near Hockenhull. A single sample from the base of the orgainic deposits was submitted for AMS radiocarbon dating and returned a date of 7629+/-29 radiocarbon years BP. Analysis of the pollen sequence show vegetation development in common with other regional patterns from the Cheshire area.
