Abstract/Summary
A desk-based assessment undertaken in advance of the submission of a planning application for a proposed new housing development at Welton Oaks, Wilmslow, Cheshire. The assessment identified four non-designated archaeological remains within the proposed development site. Within the larger study area surrounding the development, nine Archaeological Remains, thirteen Listed Buildings and twenty non-designated historic buildings were identified. The proposed development area is situated over one historic landscape character type (Ancient Field systems) and contains three hedgerows that qualify as ‘historically important’ under the terms of the Hedgerows Regulations 1997.
