Abstract/Summary

A programme of archaeological strip, map and recording was undertaken by Northern Archaeological Associates during remediation works at Saighton Camp, Chester (NGR SJ 6420 4290). The archaeological investigation revealed evidence of a possible prehistoric field system, a Romano-British field system, enclosed medieval settlement activity, post-medieval boundary ditches and marl/clay extraction pits along with the remains of the 20th century army training camp.
