Abstract/Summary
The watching brief was maintained during excavations associated with the new road bridge over the Steward's Brook, in order to examine and sample any peats exposed by excavation works. Unfortunately, and despite the depth of excavations, only modern made ground was encountered. This consisted almost entirely of dumped chemical waste.
