Abstract/Summary
Following evaluation, Northamptonshire Archaeology undertook a strip, map and record excavation on land at Chester Road, Tattenhall, on behalf of the Chester Diocesan Board of Finance ahead of the construction of a new parsonage on the site. Further to evaluation, no additional Roman remains were found. The area
contained exclusively post-medieval, principally 19th-century remains. It may have been rough ground at that date, and the undulations were smoothed out by the
introduction of dumps of mixed material into which drains were then laid.
