Abstract/Summary
Construction of a new cattle shed at Oakhanger Hall (centred on SJ 765 559) resulted in the exposure of the foundations of the former Oakhanger Hall (SJ 7654 5588). These lay c 125m to the south west of the present house, on the southern edge of the modern complex of farm buildings. The foundations proved to be of brick construction, with traces of a sandstone plinth on the north-west aspect of the building, and had been cut into a natural slope to the east.
