Source/Archive record SCH5262 - Nantwich Waterlogged Deposits Report No 2: The Character and Extent of Archaeological Preservation

Following a programme of desk-based assessment (R2763.1), SLR Consulting carried out a programme of coring and sample analysis across the zone of waterlogged deposits within the town of Nantwich in order to gain further information on the date, origin, extent and preservation of the deposits. These data, which are presented in the current report, assisted in the formulation of a management strategy designed to ensure the preservation of these deposits in the face of continuing development pressures. The management strategy is contained in R2769.3.
