| Author/Originator | Gifford and Partners |
| Report Number | R2602 |
| Date/Year | 2005 |
Abstract/Summary
The watching brief has demonstrated that substantial remains of the dock structure survive at depths of up to 3.0m across the site, which will have implications for any future development across the site of the former Bridgewater Docks. The in-filled canal arm was only subjected to very shallow excavations and this area could, potentially, contain the remains of abandoned canal boats. In addition, the unexpected presence of the warehouse basement demonstrates that the remains of such structures can be of greater complexity than was initially apparent.
