Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken in 2002 by the University of Manchester Archaeology Unit at No. 87 Witton Street, Northwich, to monitor the excavation of wall footings and general groundworks prior to re-development of the plot. Archaeological features relating to domestic buildings dating to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries were observed, but as they were not affected by the groundworks, they were not fully excavated. No medieval fetures were observed, however, some Roman features were evident.
