Abstract/Summary
An archaeological desk-based assessment was produced in 2002 in advance of a proposed development on the site of 26-34 Bridge Street, Warrington. The site currently comprises buildings occupied by retail outlets with associated car parking on the Barbauld Street frontage. The proposals included the demolition of the existing structures, with the retention of facades, and the construction of new premises (with part basement) over the application area. The site extends over the area occupied by the medieval and early post medieval town of Warrington.
