Abstract/Summary
Report detailing an assessment of finds recovered from a series of excavations undertaken between 1964 and 1974, by John Bestwick in and around the site of the Roman settlement at Middlewich. Despite the production of some interim reports, no detailed study of the artefacts recovered has been published. The bulk of the material is housed at the Middlewich Library and Picow Farm, Runcorn. This material was quantified in 1997, although no accompanying site records exist recording stratigraphic or phasing information. However, information has been obtained from Don Stubbs, who worked on the excavations between 1964-74.
