| Author/Originator | Network Archaeology |
| Report Number | R2201 |
| Date/Year | 1997 |
Abstract/Summary
A desk-based assessment was produced in 1997 in support of the new proposed Transco gas pipeline running to existing gas installations near Audley and Alrewas, Staffordshire. The assessment was based on a 1km wide study corridor along the length of the pipeline. The southern end of the pipeline passes through an archaeologically important region of the Trent Valley where dense concentrations of cropmarks provide evidence from neolithic and later prehistoric times. The route also passes close to several deserted or shrunken medieval villages.
