Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks (Phase III, Kinderton Hall Land, adjacent to Holmes Chapel Road) for a residential development at Gentrys Green, Kinderton Hall Farm, Middlewich. The archaeological work also included a controlled programme of metal detection across the site.
The watching brief did not encounter any archaeological deposits of significance indicating that the site has been used for agricultural purposes. However, the quantity of finds recovered during the metal detecting survey has demonstrated the value of this technique.
