Abstract/Summary
Archaeological watching brief carried out during the construction of an office and car park at Mersey Street, Warrington between 8th November 1993 through to 3rd October 1994. The majority of the the deposits and features identified proved to be of 19th or 20th century date, although one pit, which was not firmly dated, may have pre-dated the 19th century. Naturally accumulated alluvium and peat deposits were also identified c.2m below the surface of the site.
