Abstract/Summary
Building survey of Vale Royal House, Cheshire was undertaken from 13th March to 13th April 1995, in advance of repair and conversion works. Vale Royal is a Grade II* listed building and the former site of a Cistercian Abbey founded in 1277. The aim of the survey was to record the fabric and structure of the building to augment the results of previous surveys and provide a basis for analysis and interpretation of the structural sequence. However, some areas of the building were inaccessible at the time of the survey in particular the Douglas Wing and West Range roof.
