| Date/Year | 1997 |
Abstract/Summary
Watching brief in connection with residential housing. Groundworks monitored sporadically between 18 sept 1996 and 11 June 1997. No Roman deposits, features or artefacts found. In general 300-400mm of modern made ground or garden soil was present over undisturbed sand subsoil. It appears that the area has been extensively truncated since the nineteenth century, possibly by sand extraction.
