Abstract/Summary
An archaeological desk-based assessment and evaluation were undertaken, in 1999, for land at 63, Main Street, Frodsham. The desk-based assessment revealed a potential for remains to exist of medieval date. Three trenches were fully investigated. A fairly large sandstone built well of probable nineteenth century date was recorded in Trench 2, together with more recent pitting activity, overlying a deposit of sandy, agricultural soil. The agricultural soil was also present in Trenches 1 and 3. A single sherd of medieval pottery was recovered from a modern context.
