Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in 1999 at the site of Winwick Hospital, Warrington. A desk-top study prior to the fieldwork concluded that the remains of a Roman road may lie within the proposed development area. Eleven trial trenches were excavated, however, no signs of the Roman road were observed.
