Abstract/Summary
An archaeological field evaluation was undertaken in 2000 in advance of a proposed field evaluation on the east side of Golborne Road, north of the village of Winwick, Warrington. The evaluation comprised ten trial trenches, although only one contained a feature of archaeological potential. In Trench 5, close to the line of Golborne Road, a section of ditch of indeterminate date was investigated. The scale and character of the feature suggest a field boundary or an enclosure, but no stratified finds were recovered to indicate a date.
