| Report Number | R2309 |
| Date/Year | 1999 |
Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken in 1999 during ground disturbance works associated with the demolition and redevelopment of the former Winwick Hospital site, Winwick, near Warrington. The course of a Roman road is considered potentially to lie within the area of development. A series of evaluation trenches, excavated prior to the start of the groundworks, failed to identify the course of the road. Further monitoring during the groundworks similarly failed to identify remains of the road.
