Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in 2000 on land immediately to the west of the Stables at Lyme Park. The evaluation comprised the excavation of four trenches, also, a watching brief during ground preparation works. No significant archaeological features were encountered, although deposits on site confirm documentary records suggesting that the area was used as a tipping area for waste produced within the adjoining stables and Orangery.
