Abstract/Summary
Report of programme of archaeological evaluation work, including resisitivity survey and 11 trial trenches, undertaken in 1994 to investigate a rectangular enclosure discovered originally on air photographs, one of a group of similar enclosures interpreted as potential Roman temporary camps, or alternatively as Medieval enclosures relating to heathland management. This work was undertaken in advance of the construction of a car park at Upton-by-Chester County High School which would cut the eastern side of the enclosure.
