Abstract/Summary
The White's directories are the most comprehensive of the period, (this one has 1016 pages), and include a huge amount of information about the history and facilities of the county and each of its towns and villages. Each place is described in detail, together with listings of all residents with trades. If a person had a trade, by virtue of having completed his apprenticeship, then he will most likely be included. Also included are farmers, carriers, teachers etc
