Summary

Bombing decoy at Worthenbury. Bombing decoys were often made of electrical lights and fires of various sizes that were designed to try and deceive enemy aircraft into thinking that they were above a major target such as an industrial city. They therefore acted as passive defence for vulnerable areas.
