Summary

Destroyed tented army camp for Free Czech soldiers. Many soldiers from countries occupied by the Axis forces did not surrender to them and instead carried on fighting. They were often moved to Britain to wait until they could fight for their countries freedom and many took part in taking back Europe. There is now a Memorial in Cholmondeley Park commemorating the stay of the soldiers.

Destroyed tented army camp for Free Czech soldiers. There is now a Memorial in Cholmondeley Park commemorating the stay of the soldiers (1). The Memorial was sculpted by Frantisek Belsky (2).
