Please read our .

Summary

This pillbox or machine gun emplacement, now destroyed, had a square concrete roof on brick pillars and shared the low profile and open sided characteristics with similar structures located to the south and east of Chester. It would have had one embrasure for every side, except the one with the door. The embrasures are small rectangular openings in walls that allowed soldiers defended in the pillbox to shoot out at, or observe the enemy.
