Summary

The former course of Tabley Hill Lane survives in the fields between Moss Cottage and Villa Farm as a wide but shallow earthwork. The lane probably dates from the medieval or early post medieval periods.

Full Description

Appears to be a sunken routeway running north-east/south-west from Tableyvale Cottages. May have been an earlier section of Tabley Hill Lane. There is no evidence for this features on the ground other than a dip in the hedge line.

Visible as a slight earthwork c.20m wide running east-north-east to west-south-west from the area to the immeditae south of Moss cottage for c.300m before turning to the south-west and running for a further 340m to the vicinity of Villa Farm.

This map depicts a section of lane adjacent to the the south-eastern side of Moss Cottage. This adjoins a narrow plot described as "Half Acre and Lane".
