Full Description
Holloway ,east of Macclesfield Road. An early trackway which passes through the central area of the edge. It is certainly detectable between the two given National Grid references. It is represented as a double ditched sunken way at its south east end and a single hollow track further up. It is lost shortly after this point in a now wooded area. The line of the Holloway is detectable from the west side of the footpath between the Wizard and Engine Vein. This trackway across the uplands may be one of the oldest archaeological features on the Edge and may well be associated with the distribution of tumulii and earth circles. It could be prehistoric but could be as late as Medieval (1).
