Summary

A crudely carved face can be found on ‘Keyblock’ Bridge, Lyme Handley. It is a Celtic looking face with a date of 1844 accompanying it. It appears to belong to a large group of stone heads from Britain which on stylistic grounds are termed 'Celtic', but which show continuity into the Post Medieval period.
