Full Description
<1> Various, Written Communication to the HER, Petch M, 1990. (Written Communication). SCH3756.
Gutter spouts on the chapel in the churchyard of St. Peters Church, Prestbury. Source suggests that these gutter spouts and another possible head carved on to the keystone of an arch of the chapel (CHER: 1434/1/1) are medieval in date (the chapel is Norman). The possible head on the keystone is much worn as are some of the gutter spouts. They belong to a large group of stone heads from Britain which on stylistic grounds are termed 'Celtic', but which show continuity into the post medieval period.
