Full Description
<1> Ordnance Survey, 1870-1982, Ordnance Survey Archaeological Record Card, SJ36SE7/1964 (Index). SCH2487.
Site visit dated 19/01/1961, comments:- 'A moat was located at SJ 35116190. A 25" survey has been made.'
Survey information - Average depth 0.8m. No trace of causeway. Central platform is mutilated by a pit dug for silage. No trace of buildings, but mole scrapes contain mortar.
Site visit dated 10/07/1964, comments:- 'Survey of 19.01.61 checked and found correct.'

Unmutilated site shows well on RAF 1947 vertical A/Ps.
