Monument record 2956/0/2 - The Topps Quarry

The Topps Quarry: This is a small but fairly deep road side quarry with good examples of herring-bone pickwork and channel cuts. The boundary around the quarry is first shown on the 1872 map suggesting that it was exploited during the early to mid-nineteenth century.

This map depicts earthworks which may be associated with the quarry. The quarry appears to have expanded.
