Full Description
House Platforms at Brynlow Field. These are flat areas towards the southern ditched boundary of Brynlow Field which may be for the two buildings marked on the 1807 map. They appear to be contemporary with the cottages at the Hagg, although both seem to have been demolished by the mid 19th century. They appear to post date the ridge and furrow cultivation here (SMR record 2954) and may well relate to mining in function. Unfortunately, there is little oral tradition of cottages in this field (1).
