Full Description
Most of the Sandhills (spoil tips) were removed in the 1940 - 50s, the sand being used for sand bags and construction purposes. The remnants of two, a smaller one and a larger one can still be detected. The larger one being a tourist attraction up until the end of World War II and there are many accounts of them being used as a playground (1).
