Full Description
No foundations of the Acid Leaching Plant and the Copper Precipitation Tanks (1859 - 79 or 1914 - 1919) could be found during 1997 excavations (1). Their whereabouts can be guaged however from the 1872 map. During the 1950's the probable area of Plant and Tanks was bull-dozed and buried with redistributed mine spoil and rubbish (1).
The tanks from the 1857-1877 era were probably removed in 1878 when all plant was put up for sale. Further tanks were built in the 1914-1919 period for production of copper sulphate but these were probably removed in 1926 when the plant was again put up for sale.(3)
